Week2 pre-session reflection: A 40 Year Plan for Energy

This talk is very interesting because it provides us a new view which is using energy effectively to reduce energy consumption. First and foremost, Amory Lovins takes oil consumption of America for example to state changing the way of energy usage is better for country security, environmental management and public health. For electricity, saving energy becomes more and more important, he mentions that it would save about 1.4 trillion dollar present value after 4 decades by integrated design.  Moreover, renewable energy is too expensive and unreliable, but efficient usage of energy has low cost.

I have some ideas from this talk. I think it is more important to  find some  ways to use energy more effective rather than finding other new energy to replace the present energy.  Of course, renewable energy is useful for environment, but as mentioned, it costs much and often rely on weather, so people should pay more attention on how to use energy.
