Week7 pre-session activity: How “green” are the green roofs? Lifecycle analysis of green roof materials.

This article introduces basic knowledge of green roofs including categories of green roofs and environmental advantages. Then it points out that during the processes of materials production, it would release greenhouse gas so they are wondering that if green roofs are sustainable.

However, after doing life cycle analysis of these materials which are used in green roofs, it gives a result that green roofs are green.

This article provides interesting views and I have learned a lot from it. it not only gives specific environmental benefits of green roofs but provides LCA to analyze the materials. Based on the data they have collected and produced by LCA software, they discuss the results and come to a conclusion. Therefore, I think it is a good article for us to study green roofs.
