Week 11 pre-session activity: reflection of All-glass facades won’t exist in sustainable cities.

This article introduces some problems related to all glass facade, including terrible heat absorption and reflection, unshaded glass would let heat in. These problems lead to energy overuse and waste. There is a discussion about smart glass. They think it can solve all problems. However, the glass alone cannot deal with all issues when hotter summer, and it would be worse if it unshaded And tinted. Thus, all glass buildings are unsustainable.

All glass buildings look beautiful but expensive. For example, One Bryant Park in New York City, it leads to highly environmental cost such as increasing energy consumption due to solar gains, but if using dots to reduce it, it would be inhabitant. 

It has benefits as well I think. For example, all glass facade can allow people to communicate with external world after busy work.
