Week 12 pre-session activity: reflection of The problem with Net-Zero Buildings (and the Case for Net-Zero Neighborhoods)

This article provides some problems with net zero buildings. For example, it is hard to achieve the requirement. Moreover, carbon calculation always account for embodied carbon and energy, which is not usually suitable for net-zero energy building, expensive costs needs to be considered as well. therefore, they have designed new mixed-use facilities to solve these problems. In addition, inappropriate living style such as no contact with inhabitants may be a issue. To build a net zero building is not only need designers to use new technology, but require occupants to raise awareness. 

There are few net zero buildings according the living building challenge because few designers have skills to build it. therefore, comparing with zero energy building, I think green building is easier to create, also it can do better in reducing waste and using recycled building materials. Hence, I don't think it's a good idea to build a zero energy building in the climate of lack of experience.
